About me

Dr. Edwards is a fellowship-trained expert in the multidisciplinary treatment of breast cancer.

She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She has been recognized yearly as a Washingtonian Top Doctor and, in 2026, was listed in the magazine’s Top Doctor Hall of Fame.

Dr. Edwards attended the University of Virginia, where she earned a degree in biology. She received her medical degree from Duke University, where she was a Howard Hughes Medical Research Fellow, and completed her residency in general surgery at the George Washington University School of Medicine. In 2013, she completed a fellowship in breast surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.

Breast care & Surgery

I provide personalized surgical care for benign and malignant breast conditions. I have extensive experience in breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, and lymph node surgery, with careful attention to both oncologic and cosmetic outcomes. Together, we will choose a treatment plan that reflects your priorities.

High-Risk Breast Screening

For patients with an elevated risk of breast cancer due to family history, genetic factors, or abnormal biopsies, I offer comprehensive high-risk screening. My approach includes personalized risk assessment, imaging recommendations, and close clinical follow-up to support early detection and proactive care.

Genetic Testing & Counseling

Genetic testing helps identify inherited mutations that may increase the risk of breast and other cancers. I provide in-office genetic testing and counseling to help patients understand their risk and make informed decisions about screening, prevention, and treatment options for themselves and their families.

Breast Cancer Survivorship Care

Survivorship care is an essential part of long-term breast health. We partner with patients who have completed treatment to monitor ongoing health, manage late or long-term effects, and support wellness through tailored follow-up plans designed to promote confidence and peace of mind after cancer.
